This guide covers how to use Valorant’s Duelist Agent, Phoenix. Phoenix has a very rewarding play style, complimented by his aggressive abilities that grant him point presence and play maker potential.

Phoenix’s Abilities

Unique Agent Trait – Star Power

Phoenix has 4 abilities, Blaze, Curveball, Hot Hands and Run it Back.

Curveball – Bound to “Q” by default

Press Q to equip a flare orb that blind enemies. It can only be thrown on an arc, to the left or right. This ability blinds allies and enemies alike.

Hot Hands – Bound to “E” by default

Press E to equip a fire ball. It is thrown on an arc and sets fire to a set area upon hitting the ground (like a molotov). It can be used to deal damage or to self heal by standing in the flames (it damages your teammates). It deals damage that ignores armor.

Hot hands can be used up to three times per round, not requiring credits to purchase but instead 2 kills to recharge. The ability is recharged at the start of every round.

Blaze – Bound to “C” by default

This ability creates a wall of fire that blocks line of sight, the ability is thrown as an orb with no set range. The wall can be used in several ways. Throwing it up into the air will generate a higher wall (but shorter length). Throwing the orb into the distance will generate a longer wall with a shorter height. The wall goes over obstacles and can block both the ground and heaven (a map callout) simultaneously.

The wall damages teammates and enemies that pass through it. Standing close to wall as Phoenix will full heal you regardless of hp. The wall also temporarily blinds everyone passing through it. The wall can also be curved to the left or right, by holding the mouse button instead of clicking it.

Run It Back – Bound to “X” by default

This is Phoenix’s ultimate ability, and the main reason for his play maker potential. You cannot die whilst the ability is active, making it useful for pushes to take points or sight lines.

The ability for a set period of time or until you take 100 damage, whichever comes first. The ability can also be used to reset your damage, as Phoenix rebirths with full hp even if he did not have full hp upon use of run it back.
